An expansion is in the works for the Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus – including plans such as a hockey rink, outdoor movies, and much more.
The owners of the mall are unveiling a sweeping overhaul.
The proposed new look includes a 300-unit residential building, hotel and possible business spaces.
According to mall officials, the once 180,000-square-foot J.C. Penney department store will be converted into up to 15 individual stores.
The building where Best Buy once was is expected to be a mix of food and entertainment tenants.
A green space is also planned on the campus. The three-acre public park will include walking and community gardens. The park will be open to the public, and the mall will maintain it.
Developers are also planning for a regulation-sized ice hockey rink.
Developers say particular attention will be paid to traffic flow and parking.
