One of the last few pinball machine manufactures in the world is located in the Garden State.
Jersey Jack Pinball builds pinball machines that are sold all over the world – many right in New Jersey.
Owner Jack Guarneri works with his son, daughter and about 40 other employees. The Lakewood business has produced the machines since 2011.
“The Silverball Museum in Asbury Park. We have games at iPlay America. We have games at Barcade in Jersey City, so a lot of different places are popping up,” Guarneri says.
Pinball machines were very popular for decades, before disappearing for a while. But Guarneri says that they are making a big comeback.
“Every weekend or so there is a big pinball event in the world. There are more than 50,000 ranked pinball players that compete in tournaments everywhere,” he says.
Jersey Jack’s machines are also for sale to individuals and can be purchased at the Lakewood warehouse or online.
