For the 23rd consecutive day, New Jersey did not see any moisture fall from the sky. Heck, I bet you didn’t even see a cloud in the sky today. Fair weather remains anchored over the region and is very stubborn in relinquishing its hold over the area. New Jersey has seen three consecutive months of below-normal average rainfall. The United States drought monitor is reporting that 60% of New Jersey is in a “moderate drought.” More and more communities will implement water restrictions as reservoirs and groundwater slowly dry up.
Is there a chance of rain this week? The short answer is yes. A very, very, very small chance of showers might clip the shore on Thursday morning. It won’t be a statewide soaking - which we desperately need - and it certainly won’t be a drought-buster where it rains, but anything is something good at this point.
TONIGHT: Mainly clear with a comfy chill. LOW: 57
WEDNESDAY: Mainly sunny with a few afternoon clouds. HIGH: 78 (Possibly warmer if the clouds don’t show up until past dark, which is a very good possibility)
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy. LOW 53 (Coastal communities might have the distinct pleasure at seeing a few passing sprinkles or light showers until right after daybreak)
THURSDAY: Early clouds breaking for sunshine again. Cooler and breezy. HIGH: 64
FRIDAY: Sunny, seasonable and dry, HIGH: 65
