Brummer's Chocolates in Westfield is closing this weekend after the owner, George Brummer, announced he is retiring.
The store opened its first location in Jersey City in 1904, before closing in 1988. The original shop was run by Brummer’s grandfather.
The Westfield shop on East Broad Street has been around for the last 31 years.
They'll be open through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In a post on Facebook, the store says, “After 31 years in Westfield, NJ, Brummer’s Chocolates will be closing its doors on Saturday, July 18. George Brummer, owner and operator, has decided to retire after 47 years in the candy making business. We thank all of our customers for their years of support! Brummer’s will be open this week, Wednesday through Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.”
