A look at New Jersey Olympians who won medals in Paris

Sebastian Rivera became the first Rutgers Scarlet Knight wrestler to win a medal at the Olympics in the school's history.

The Garden State has made its mark at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Several New Jersey natives won big and took home gold and silver medals.
Dunellen's Sydney McLaughlin broke her own world record and won gold in the 400-meter hurdles and the 4x400 meter relay in track and field.

Ridgewood’s Scottie Scheffler took home the gold medal in the men's individual golf competition.

Riverdale native Jackie Dubrovich was part of the fencing team that took home gold.
Morristown's Nic Fink won a gold and two silvers.
Mendham's Jack Alexy won a gold and a silver. And Alexy's fellow Delbarton school grad Morgan Pearson won a silver medal in the team triathlon event.
Hezly Rivera, of Oradell, was part of team USA’s gymnastics squad that won gold in the team event.
Newark’s Bam Adebayo won gold as a member of Team USA’s men's basketball team.

Rutgers alums take home Olympic medals

Also, former Rutgers student Sebastian Rivera brought home a bronze medal for team Puerto Rico at the summer games. The Toms River athlete became the first Scarlet Knight wrestler to win a medal at the Olympics in the school's history.
Rivera served as one of Puerto Rico’s flag bearers for the opening ceremony. He was one of three Rutgers alums to win a medal at the Olympics this year. Women's basketball player Kahleah Copper and women's soccer player Casey Murphy took home gold medals.
