There is a traffic alert for those looking to visit Lambertville over the next month. The New Hope-Lambertville Bridge will be closed for two weeks starting on Jan. 13.
Construction has been ongoing over the past year, but in order to completely rehabilitate the bridge, a full closure is needed.
Business owners tell News 12 New Jersey they are concerned that the closure will impact their profits.
“I think that the bridge closure has affected us and I do not anticipate being busier,” says Ami Cross, owner of Sojourner. “I have been off from last year about 15%.”
"We've had quite an impact from that over the course of the year…we are making our way through and hopefully the January closure won't be too difficult,” says Lisa Stephens, owner of Lambertville Trading Company.
Structural damage is to blame for the complete closure.
