A long-awaited opening is finally arriving in Asbury Park.

Asbury Social is expected to open Wednesday at the former site of Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten, which was heavily damaged by flooding nearly three years ago.

The new venue occupies the space left behind after the September 2023 flood forced the abrupt closure of the popular biergarten.

The flooding caused extensive damage and ultimately led to the property's sale to new owners.

Now, after years of renovations and rebuilding, Asbury Social is preparing to welcome its first customers.

Owner Julian Gellman spoke with News 12's Jim Murdoch today and says say a soft opening is scheduled within days as the new business prepares for its official launch.
