Neptune teen faces slew of charges related to car burglaries in Spring Lake Heights

A 14-year-old boy from Neptune is facing several charges related to car burglaries in Spring Lake Heights.
Authorities say officers responded to a report of a suspicious person entering a parked vehicle on Worthington Avenue at around 6:30 a.m. Saturday.
Upon arrival, the suspect fled over a fence and into backyards in the area. Spring Lake Heights police and Belmar police set up a perimeter and deployed a drone.
Police say the suspect was then seen trying to flee in a vehicle. He was arrested without incident.
Authorities say he has been charged with burglary, theft, trespassing and resisting arrest by flight.
The suspect was released to a parent pending an appearance in juvenile court.
