The Interior Department says it will dip into user fees to pay for staffing national parks during the government shutdown.

Parks have largely stayed open, but are relying on outside help for security and upkeep.

The National Park Services says it will use the funds to clean and maintain restrooms, restore accessibility, and bring in additional law enforcement rangers.
