A systemwide outage that halted the processing of transactions Monday at the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission has been fixed with officials now looking at what went wrong.
The MVC says it was unable to process transactions due to network connection issues statewide. However, online transactions were not impacted.
"I got on line, we kept shuffling along, slowly but surely I made it up to the door," says Raymond Kida, of Montville. They gave me a number and the computers went down, and every half hour I'm checking in, nothing yet, nothing yet."
The MVC has had its issues since reopening in July. There have been long lines and growing frustration among residents.
Gov. Phil Murhphy signed two new bills into law last week that are designed to alleviate the crunch.
MVC officials say the Edison location's computers are still down because of a power outage, but all others are running again.
