With many night clubs, bars, music venues and theaters closed as a precaution against the coronavirus, many performers are turning to the internet to entertain fans but still adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Musician Joe Baracata streamed a live concert from his home – his only way to reach fans now that everyone has been advised to stay inside of their homes.
“I just wanted to make everyone feel like it was two weeks ago,” he says. “Just not knowing what’s going to happen the next few weeks.”

Baracata says that he is just playing his part to help ease some of the nerves and tension in society during this time.
But it is also an uncertain time for those in the entertainment industry. Jim Garcia, a founding member of the iconic New Jersey band The Nerds, says that while all of the band’s bookings in the near future are sure to be called off, clients seem to be holding out hope that they won’t have to cancel.

“I feel that there is this spirit of hopefulness that everything is going to be OK and get better overnight, even though we know it probably will not be that way,” Garcia says.
Meanwhile, Baracata says that he is planning his next livestream for his fans.
