The family of a Jersey City teen shot to death is in mourning, but members say they are also living with the knowledge that he helped bring new life to others.
Ronald Witherspoon Jr. was gunned down a few steps away from his Belmont Avenue home on Wednesday, July 22. He died a day later at Jersey City Medical Center.
Witherspoon's family decided to donate his organs, according to his mother, Dawn Witherspoon. The family says six people received organs already and another 50 may benefit from other collected tissue.
Witherspoon was a student at Lincoln High School. His funeral is scheduled for Tuesday.
