Next Monday, North
Jersey is holding an African Restaurant Week, which will feature over
30 restaurants, including Swahili Village in downtown Newark.
Kevin Onyona,
founder and CEO of Swahili Village says, "A lot of people are
completely oblivious to what African food looks like and of course during
tasting you'll see that it's just normal. The way we prep it and the way we
serve it is different and of course the seasoning that goes into bringing out
the flavor from Africa."
African
Restaurant week ends with a festival in Newark on Aug. 6 and 7. In addition
to the food, the festival will have music and vendors selling African
clothes, spices and baskets.
