Crews responded to a two-alarm house fire in Middlesex Friday night.

It happened on the 500 block of Harris Avenue around 8 p.m.

Multiple crews braved the frigid temperatures for two hours before declaring the fire under control.

Police say the only person at home at the time was alerted of the fire by a passerby and escaped. They were taken to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
