A motorist ended up in the hospital over the weekend from what police are describing as an unprovoked incident of road rage.Michael Scogoza says he was bloodied and beaten Saturday after a misunderstanding at a stop sign ended in savage fisticuffs.
"I just simply thought this guy wasn't gonna move, maybe he was on his cell phone, so I backed up and I went around him,? he says. ?It just never clicked that this was somebody who was coming after me."
According to Scogoza, the driver followed him home. When Scogoza stopped his car, the other driver allegedly spit in his face and started punching him. The beating continued as Scogoza lay on the ground, nearly unconscious.
?I thought I was going to die,? he says.
Scogoza was able to give Park Ridge police a description of the alleged attacker. Police are now looking for a white male standing about 6?3? with short, dark hair and a thin, muscular build. The suspect was driving a black SUV similar to a Honda CRV or Toyota RAV-4.
Scogoza hopes police can find his attacker before he goes too far.
"I could see this man doing this to someone else and killing them,? he says.
