Mothers file lawsuit claiming poppy-seeded bagels caused them to fail drug test

Two mothers in New Jersey filed lawsuits after claiming they failed drug tests after eating poppy seed bagels.
The mothers allege that the hospitals they gave birth in violated their rights after drug tests were performed on them without their consent. The tests led to them to being reported for possible neglect, days after giving birth.
The mothers claim the bagels caused them to fail the tests.
The ACLU of New Jersey responded to the lawsuit on Twitter.
“No one should face discrimination based on sex and pregnancy when going to the hospital. Our clients, and all of New Jersey, deserve better,” the tweet stated.
