Heat advisory continues in New Jersey as highs approach near 100 degrees

Mostly sunny skies with warm temperatures; tracking Friday storms

The weather story remains the same - quiet. The heat begins to build by the end of the week. Thursday is warm. Friday becomes hot and humid. This will be only the second time that Newark Liberty International Airport reaches for 90 degrees this year.
There is a good chance for evening storms on Friday into Friday night. The question will be if the storms become severe. It's possible given the conditions on Friday. Something to keep an eye on.
As the storms pass, sunny and quiet weather returns and it looks to be a pleasant warmth in the low-80s. It will be short-lived. It looks like serious heat will build up next week. There is a very good possibility we get our first shot at long-standing heat this year.
OVERNIGHT: A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. Lows dip to around 63 degrees.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny with some clouds. Daytime highs around 80. Overnight lows dip to around 63.
THURSDAY: Mostly sunny with warm temperatures in the upper-80s. Lows overnight will be in the mid-60s.
FRIDAY: Stormy weather expected. Highs around 92 degrees with overnight lows around 70.
SATURDAY: The skies clear with Saturday seeing plenty of sunshine. Daytime highs in the mid-80s. Overnight lows around 65.
SUNDAY: Father’s Day will see mostly sunny skies with highs in the low-80s. Lows dip to the mid-60s.
