Places like Morris County could be seeing snow before the switch to rain during Sunday night's storm.
Trucks were being loaded with salt at the salt pile in Cedar Knolls, Morris County ahead of the storm's arrival.
Director of Morris County Office of Emergency Management Jeff Paul said crews will have to salt about 300 miles of road throughout the evening.
Paul also said they have extra staff throughout the night and the Morris County Sheriff has the Emergency Service Unit and Control Division to supplement crews during the storm.
Paul said they're prioritizing salting because of the anticipated wintry mix that the storm will bring. He said crews will target areas in higher elevations where snow tends to accumulate more.
Paul believes they're in good shape for tonight's storm and hopes that the warmer weather Monday will improve roadway conditions and more suitable for travel.
