Officials in Freehold have closed a school gym for a second time over mercury concerns.
The gym at the Joseph J. Catena School is being tested after the rubberized floor began emitting mercury vapors.
The gym was shut down back on Sept. 21 last month after the air came back positive for mercury.
Superintendent Neal Dickstein says the temperature in the gym is now below 72 degrees to help reduce the vapors.
The school has around 500 students and 70 staff members.
