Mix of sun and clouds for Thursday; weather improves for the weekend

Friday and Saturday look lovely with sunnier skies and warmer conditions.

There is a flood advisory for Ocean and Atlantic counties for the next high tide cycle. Minor saltwater inundation is possible because of the winds and the new moon.
A weak weather system is washing out as it approaches New Jersey from Pennsylvania. Onshore winds and this front have kept our skies cloudy, but we haven't seen any showers.
It's highly unlikely we will. Patchy fog could form along the coast and in the northwest corner of the state tonight. Otherwise, it remains overcast with temperatures in the 50s.
Tomorrow looks good. The washed-up front stalls over the area, keeping some cloud coverage in place. But we also see some sun poke through as fair weather tries to establish itself. Highs will be in the mid-70s.
Friday and Saturday look lovely. Sunnier skies and warmer conditions. Mid- to upper-70s for the high. Still sunny on Sunday.
Sunday night into Monday morning is our best chance for rain, and that system looks to bring in our first real taste of autumn air for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Some areas north of Interstate 78 could experience their first frost of the season, which would be right on time. The first frost usually occurs in northwestern New Jersey in the first 10 days of October.
