There was a happy ending in Warren County Tuesday after a missing brain-damaged man was found safe.

Police say 42-year-old Steven Schubert went missing in Independence Township Monday night. Despite his age, an accident 20 years ago left Schubert with the mental capacity of an 8-year-old. Search teams combed a 25-mile radius overnight to look for the man. According to an Independence Office of Emergency Management official (OEM), Schubert emerged from a wooded area at daybreak.

Officials were concerned because Schubert was only wearing a T-shirt and jeans when he went missing. Though he appeared to be shivering when he was found, the OEM official says Schubert is doing fine.
