The Borough of Metuchen will lower the speed limit on all county roads to 25 mph, effective Friday.

According to officials, the roads include Amboy, Central, Middlesex, Plainfield, and Woodbridge avenues, Main Street, and New Durham and Plainfield roads.

The change comes as town officials embrace the Slow Down In Our Town initiative, which aims to reduce speeding and increase pedestrian safety.
