A huge fire at Sims Metal Plant in Jersey City left smoke billowing over New Jersey homes for miles Monday. No injuries have been reported.
It took around five hours for 45 firefighters from the Newark and Jersey City fire departments to fight the fire. Newark police sent additional help.
Flames from the fire reached heights of four stories. Fire officials were scared that scrap metal from the plant would fall on emergency crews and made crews keep their distance from the blaze.
Witnesses had health concerns in regards to the thick smoke.
?I saw some people having problems breathing,? said Donald Dunn.
