The mass shooting at a historically African-American church last month in South Carolina has local law enforcement departments working to protect houses of worship in New Jersey.

Bergen County will be hosting a meeting this Wednesday with law enforcement offices and members of clergy to discuss security concerns and procedures at churches, synagogues and mosques in the county.

It is a meeting that some local parishioners feel is greatly needed.

"It's very important for us to work together and cooperate," says Yossi Goldin, of Englewood. "We all have one main goal, which is everybody's safety. We all need to do whatever we can to ensure that safety."

The public safety discussion will include planning safety and security measures, as well as training and inspection of buildings.
