An Israeli flag was stolen from outside Hoboken City Hall, according to the city’s mayor.

Mayor Ravi Bhalla says that the theft happened Friday night. The flag was at half-staff following the start of the war between Israel and Hamas.

"I want to make it unequivocally clear that we will not tolerate such behavior in our community. Hoboken is a diverse city that has always stood for fairness and inclusivity…” the mayor wrote in a statement.

Bhalla says that antisemitism or any other form of hatred or bigotry “has no place in our city.”
