And first, to their anxious parents and students outside Matawan High School today. That district went on lockdown. News twelve's Adriana Daniel is there with what happened. All schools in the district were on lockdown today due to a threat that law enforcement later deemed not credible, but the anxiety, impact, and stress it left on students and parents was still felt. I was just coming out of the bathroom and then all you hear is like the security guards on the radio yelling and teachers yelling Lockdown, lockdown, and then they get in the classroom and then they announced the lockdown on the loudspeaker and the secretary even sounded like frightened, like she was scared. Released from the Aberdeen Township Police Department, a threatening phone call was made to the high school's main office, immediately sending the school into lockdown. Out of precaution, all other schools in the district were also locked down. I thought it was just like normal. I thought it was just Joe. I didn't know it was like a real lockdown, so I was like, it was like the end of class, so I put my head down and then like 20 minutes later, like the police were like banging on the door. A cop came in with like a hand rifle, I think it was a handgun, and. A revolver. While law enforcement investigated the threat, one parent tells us she was very worried about everyone in the building. We didn't know what we were going to come into. We were so nervous and so scared. I even thought about bringing a weapon and then I just prayed and then we came over and then we realized this was serious, but I liked the way that the cops and the school handled the whole situation. Rogers wasn't the only person leaning on her faith. I was in there. I was praying with my cousin Jaden. We were praying to make sure everybody was safe, and that's what happened. We all came out. Safe. Everybody was protected by God. In a phone call I had with the Aberdeen Township Chief of Police Matthew Lloyd, he debunked some rumors for me. First, he said there was no active shooter threat. Second, he said there wasn't an intruder at the school. And third, he said the department did not see an AI video that led to the lockdown.
