All schools in the Matawan Aberdeen Regional School District are on lockdown due to a reported threat.

Police are on the scene investigating. The nature of the threat was not immediately provided.

“The safety and security of our students and staff are TOP priorities,” school officials wrote in a statement.

Officials are asking families to say where they are and avoid coming to the schools while the incident is investigated.
