(03/29/06) MAPLEWOOD ? Hundreds of Columbia High School students staged a walkout in Maplewood Wednesday to protest perceived racism by their school principal.
Students are protesting a statement made by Renee Pollack in which the principal stated there were two schools, one good and one bad. Students say it is time for the district to take action and bring in a new principal. According to some parents, the walkout is the culmination of years of insensitivity among school officials.
Pollack could not be reached for comment on the matter.
