Turns out the Really Unique BBQ and Mexican Grill, or R.U.B. Hut, in Manville isn?t really unique after all.
The owners of R.U.B. Hut opened up the restaurant, which serves a fusion of barbeque and Mexican cuisine, over a year ago. They say their food was just becoming a hit when they were slapped with a lawsuit from a Manhattan restaurant by the same name. The owners say they thought they were thorough and unique when they picked a name for their establishment.
After spending $7,000 on legal costs, R.U.B. Hut owners say they are giving up the fight for their name. Now, it?s up to R.U.B. Hut customers to choose a new name in a contest. The owners hope to have a new name by the end of the year.
