Manasquan Elementary School was one of hundreds of nationwide and more around the world Monday spinning pinwheels together as a united message for world peace.
The event corresponded with the United Nation's deeming Monday the International Day of Peace. Manasquan's K-8 students decorated their own pinwheels for the event and assembled 704 of them in the shape of a peace sign.
Third-grader Christopher Figuly tried to sum up the event, saying it represented "peace and quiet, happiness" and "keeping the world clean and everything nice."
