The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating the deaths of a couple found in a home on Millington Avenue in Newark.
Investigators say the bodies of a man and woman, who appear to be in their 40s, were found at the home Monday evening. The bodies showed no obvious signs of what caused their deaths. A spokesperson for the prosecutor's office says it appears the pair were a couple and may have been married.
Investigators remained at the home Tuesday, looking into exactly what happened, as neighbors looked on.
"Of course it's scary, because you live right next door and you don't know what happened," says Ida Lewis.
Neighbors tell News 12 New Jersey they believe the man found was the homeowner's son, however that is not confirmed by investigators.
The prosecutor's office says it is waiting for the results of an official autopsy report to find out exactly how the couple died.
