A West Deptford man was sentenced Tuesday to 13 years in New Jersey State Prison after pleading guilty to attempted murder and other charges stemming from a 2024 shooting outside an Atlantic City bar, and a subsequent drug offense, according to prosecutors.

Rockwell Pohlig, 35, was sentenced to an aggregate prison term of 13 years, subject to the No Early Release Act, which requires him to serve 85% of the sentence before becoming eligible for parole.

Pohlig previously pleaded guilty to attempted murder, weapons offenses and possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute.

According to prosecutors, Pohlig admitted to attempting to kill a victim identified as N.R. by shooting him with a handgun outside the Chelsea Pub in Atlantic City on Oct. 12, 2024. Prosecutors said Pohlig turned himself in at the Atlantic County Justice Facility on Oct. 17, 2024, and admitted to bringing more than one ounce of synthetic cannabinoid into the jail with the intent to distribute it to other inmates.

Pohlig will remain at the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending transfer to state prison.
