Officials say a man was killed when a fire broke out yesterday at an apartment complex in Dumont.
Officials say firefighters found the body in a first-floor apartment shortly after they arrived around 10 a.m.
The fire was contained to the apartment and had burned itself out by the time firefighters arrived.
No one else was injured in the fire, though several residents were briefly evacuated as a precaution. Officials say they all were allowed to return to their units.
