NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - A man accused killing a teenager and wounding three others in a shooting at a New Jersey public housing complex earlier this year has been captured in Georgia.
Essex County prosecutors say 24-year-old Newark resident Raheem Rudd faces several counts, including murder, conspiracy to commit murder and weapons offenses. He was arrested Tuesday in Atlanta and was being held there pending an extradition hearing.
The charges against Rudd stem from a Jan. 11 shooting at the John Hyatt Court complex in Newark that left 16-year-old city resident Kevin Barber dead. Two other teenage boys, ages 15 and 16, and a 19-year-old man were wounded.
A motive for the shooting has not been disclosed.
