Newark police say that they are hoping the public can identify four people involved in an armed robbery last Monday.

Officials say the victim came to Avon Avenue to purchase a car from a woman. They say a person instructed the victim to wait for the car on Avon Avenue near Jeliff Avenue.

Police say the victim became suspicious and began walking away. They say this is when the victim was approached by several people at the Pilgrim Baptist Village apartment complex. Police say one of the people who approached was brandishing a gun.

The group went through the victim’s pockets and stole several items.

Police say the first suspect is a Black male last seen wearing a black sweatsuit with red and yellow colors. The second suspect is a light-skinned female who was last seen wearing dark-colored jeans, a black sweater, black glasses, and a gray shirt. A third suspect was a Black male, last seen wearing all-black clothing with black and yellow Jordan sneakers. The fourth suspect was the male brandishing the gun. He was wearing a gray sweatsuit and a black ski mask.

Anyone who may have information about this robbery is urged to call Newark police’s tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
