Man accused of killing relatives remains detained; next hearing scheduled for January

A South Brunswick man accused of fatally shooting three family members will remain detained, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
News 12 New Jersey has also learned that 23-year-old Om Brahmbhatt will have his next court hearing in January.
Om Brahmbhatt, 23, is accused of killing his grandparents, 72-year-old Dilipkumar Brahmbhatt and 72-year-old Bindu Brahmbhatt, as well as his uncle, 38-year-old Yashkumar Brahmbhatt, while they slept in their Coppola Drive townhome on Nov. 27.
Authorities say that Om Brahmbhatt called 911 to report the shooting and then told arriving officers, “It might be me.”
He was charged with three counts of first-degree murder.
