Man accused of defecating on driveway, breaking into car
North Plainfield police are searching for an alleged serial car burglar who was seen on surveillance video defecating on a person's driveway.
Police say the suspect defecated next to a car parked in a stranger's driveway on Rockview Terrace around 3:45 a.m. back on May 27. The same night, he was caught on surveillance video breaking into a car, and allegedly attempted to break into multiple other vehicles in the area.
According to police crime logs, a man was robbed at gunpoint by two suspects the same day as the car break-ins, just a short distance away on Sycamore Avenue. And back on April 19, a car was burglarized on Rockview Avenue, which curves off from Rockview Terrace, and $1,400 cash was stolen.
It's not clear if those incidents are related, but anyone with information on any of the crimes is asked to call North Plainfield police at 908-769-2923 or email anonymously at tips@npmail.org.
