Main Street potholes irk Asbury Park residents

People who drive through Asbury Park say that massive potholes in town are causing them some problems.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation is doing a major rehabilitation project on Route 71. The project began in March and covers the roadway from Allenhurst to Asbury Park.
The DOT will be upgrading 29 intersections, including with the addition of 17 new traffic signals. But repaving in Asbury won’t begin until the fall. 
The DOT says that work will stop in the summer of 2019 and the whole project won’t be completed until 2020. 
The project is said to improve safety and operational performance.
