We're going to Hudson County for main street, New Jersey. Lauren do is in Gutenberg, featuring local businesses there. Lauren. Nothing like a little pizza at five in the morning. Right. Exactly. That's what we're doing this morning. The pizza all made from pizza and grill at the pantry market at the gallery mall. Yes. Hi, good morning. What you make this morning? Ok. I made the pie. I made, have buffalo chicken pizza. I have over here barbecue and a traditional pizza. So what is, what is this? You can get pizza, you get your bread, milk and eggs too. You got everything over here. We try our best to provide everything for the community over here. We have a pantry market. We have a deli and we have a pizzeria all in one. And you also made some other food for us this morning. Let's go see what's over here. So, what is the whole deli going on here? Yes, I made that lamb gyro platter. I made the tricolor vodka sauce. So we do like breakfast, lunch and dinner and we have Italian food. We have American food. We have pizza and like lunchtime. We have also continental food. We have Spanish. Ok. Yeah. What's your breakfast deal? You can walk in and get your, uh, we have a deal right now. If you walk in you buy a breakfast sandwich at 12 ounce coffee for $5 only. So, yeah. And then, because this is a grocery store too. Yes, it is. Of course. I love it. Ok. And then re, your owners over here? I mean, do you love being in the community? You've been here for about five years, right. Yeah, I'm very happy to serve the community here, especially during the COVID. Yeah. Yeah, we have full support from the mayor. The mayor's here too. The mayor should be hanging out with us all morning. We got the mayor here and how much of a staple this place in the Galaxy Mall? Galaxy Towers have been here since 1976 and like Ray had said through the, through the pandemic and everything they were open, they were here for the residents and it's been a vital piece, you know, this dates back to 76. This mall has been here. We had a movie theater and stuff like that. We're trying to revitalize but restaurants uh massage, uh you know, uh pampered, you get your little nails and everything else done but you shoot, but it's, it's, you know, a staple of community and what these guys do for the residents here, not only here but on the west side, on the east side of town. It's greatly appreciated. I did chip my nails. I do need to get my nails done. Do you have a fun day planned for us? We're in Hudson County for main street, New Jersey. On this Friday morning, Lauren do is in Gutenberg uh taking a look at some of the local businesses there. Yes. So Lauren, you did check out a piece of place where you are. Where are you now? I should say you got to work it off the strength that we got here this morning. What kind of? Yeah, we, so we a group training facility. People come to us for coaching community and results. Today is a live build session right now. They're in their finisher finishing. This is just the finishing touch. They're doing awesome. And you're also known for transformations, right? Absolutely. That's when people come to us for losing weight, building muscle and just looking and feeling their best. And we have pictures, you have the actual transformation pictures. I mean, like this is crazy like she in the top corner there, bodybuilder like competition. So we've helped a few bodybuilders get up on the stage. A lot of moms have done it as well. Moms going into the stage as well. It's been a beautiful thing that's amazing. And some of them are here this morning. Too. Right. Some of them are. So, this is it. I mean, this is pretty great that you can build it right here in the community. How long have you been here? We've been here for nine years. Nine years. And what's your favorite part about it? Oh, the community itself. It's beautiful. Like you can feel the energy here. Everybody that in here, they just amazing. I love the people that come in here. So, what's your favorite exercise? Exercise? Oh, man. I mean, I honestly love it all. I love the weights more than anything. So, here we do three days of weightlifting. So today is one of them. Monday, Wednesday, Friday. You ever, you guys want to come in, come in, show up for our 5 a.m. session and you'll have a blast, you know who's not working out though? The mayor? Yeah. Oh, I'm allergic to working out. Well, we got a bakery. You can't go to Main Street, New Jersey without a bakery, right? La Chica's bakery here. Look at all the food they have. This is exactly how you want to spend a rainy morning, Gabe, the owner here. Ok. What type of food is this? It looks like it's a little bit of everything. Hi, Lauren. Thanks for being here. Yeah, we have a little bit of everything. We um we have traditional breakfast dishes. We have uh regular pastries. Uh I can show you a little bit here. We have some savory stuff and some sweet um pastries with uh like the margaritas are cream filled, they got Quince and cream, they got TCE de Leche. Then you have the uh traditional Uruguayan um croissants. Yeah. And this is the Uruguay Bakery, right? But it's a combination between Italian and French. Yes, it is. Yes, it is. The culture in Uruguay is, you know, very traditional. We are 90% European descendants. And we took a lot from the French as far as the bakery is. I mean, there's so much you have the little, yeah, little market place. We have things from Spain, from Argentina and from Uruguay and the Alfa hos uh cookies with uh D sole in the middle, rolled in uh uh coconut and you, you're popular because who's this on your, on your business card here? Actually, it's Blondie. Uh she lived, she lived very close to our first location in Union City. So we put a place, a poster of her on that location honoring her. And you really play into the social media. We got the mayor here scoping out his uh his next pastry. Which one are you gonna get mayor? They all look so good. You could taste one of each. I mean, this place is so cute. You have your daughter here. My daughter Nicole is here. So you decorate this place. I love it. And then hello, New York. You're looking gorgeous today. Yes, that's uh that's my sister's doing. Uh when we first opened, we needed that white wall to show something and being across from New York, we couldn't find anything better to book, but it's perfect in New York. I love it. How about some Thai cuisine? We are right on Park Ave. We're at Lotus Thai cuisine. We have Tang, we have David here. OK, tell me about this place. Um We opened like 13 years ago and we live around here and there's no Thai place around here. So I start to, so we start to open the restaurant and I have my mom cooking from the beginning. So everything is very authentic and um mom recipe. So food is good and it looks really cool inside too. And by the way, you're telling me that little table, someone comes and like walks their duck. That's not a joke, not a joke, not a joke. Hey, Scott, you go in first because it, it's a grand entry, right? And David, you basically designed it. All right. Yes. Yes, I oversee all the design here. I mean, this is a vibe when you walk in. Oh yeah, the mayor, your guests, I mean, are they talking of your good company? Good food or what can we go wrong? I mean, you look alive, which is good. Ok. So you're saying this is a special dish that you can only get at Lotus Thai cuisine. Yes. Yes. This is it called Bangkok chicken. So it's, it's only my mom recipe. So you cannot find in any other Thai restaurant. And this one is, um, coconut shrimp with uh mango salad. So this is my recipe. That's my favorite. And we got daffy duck right here. Right? And, and the duck here, we have the best duck in town. Yeah. And you were voted, you know, number one, right? Yes, we, we voted number one, best restaurant in New Jersey last year. Ok. We have 30 seconds. Let's show everyone the best part. I think this is pretty amazing, but this is so cool. I mean, it looks like you're going behind the scenes to the kitchen and then you go outside. I love this place. I love the vibe. I love everything you do here. This is so cool. Such a great spot. Hey, would you like a scoop of ice cream? Look at this. We're right here with Samantha Mighty. OK. Bo Cocoa B does this work? Highly anticipated? Everyone wants to know organic and plant-based. OK. Organic plant based ice cream. Um My business partner and I came up with idea. We have coconut based ice cream. We have oat based ice cream, which is the chocolate and the rest of them are cashew based. OK? And this one is sugar free. This one is sugar free. Yeah, the apple cinnamon is sugar free. We just tried that literally today, literally today. OK. So you've been there for a while. So Coco, the name, how does that all come? Bon Coco. Both my parents are from Saint Lucia and uh Bon Coco means uh good coconuts in Saint Lucian Patois. They speak broken French. So the name Bon Coco coconuts all came into play and you've only been in business for a short while. 10 weeks, we've been open 11 weeks. We've been open, we opened the twin third of July 3rd and the mayor, I'm gonna bring the mayor in over here. This is right next door to you. So, how many times have you been here? I tell you what my favorite is the strawberry shortbread and the coconut milk. I guess the coconut pistachio crunch is the excellent to uh, I mean, to think that it's made out of again, almond milk, cashew milk. It's, it's amazing. It tastes just like ice cream and they do a great job. They manufacture it here. Everything is in house and we happened to have it here, Samantha. We take everyone back and this is so clean. It is insane that it's actually functional. You've actually cooked in here. Yeah, we cook in here. These are our batch freezers. This is where we make our lollies. We do it all in here. Cookies. Lollies. You name it banana bread, sea moss gel. We have it all. You're known for your banana bread, right? You are known for the banana bread people. Absolutely adore the banana bread and I'm sure you'll sample before you leave. Yeah, I will. I do want to try some ice cream. Oh, are those fresh baked cookies that are coming out too? Is making the cookie keys coming out right now. Oh, you wanna walk over here? There you go. All right. Well, I gonna try some cook. I gonna try some ice cream. She's shopping Lauren, what are you shopping for? And this is very fun shopping. We're doing some vintage shopping. We're at archive vintage boutique Alicia here. I mean, we walked in and this is just, thank you so much funnier. That's really what I try to do. I want you to open up a vibrancy. So, what kind of pieces do you have here? Because these are pretty amazing. So welcome in. My name is Alicia Rosado. I've been archiving one of a kind pieces for over 10 years now. I have pieces from different errors from the 19 fifties up. I really try to um find things with quality rarity and just things you don't see. Yeah. And you know what we don't see often and you don't feel often. Is this jacket iii I literally cannot even lift it off like I can't even lift it off the rock guys. I'm not even kidding. You. Can you lift it up? You gotta get it in though, look how beautiful that is. So this is from a Chilean designer. His name is Veterans Gordon and he did this all by hand and he's amazing. So what is the price range with all this? This obviously looks like very expensive. So this piece, yes. Um My price ranges range from about that is heavy um about $25 to 3000. So there really is a range here together too because there's a projector over there. You clear everything out and what goes on. So I started cinema nights. Um fashion and film has always been really important to me. Um It's been an influence in my life for a really long time. So it led me to um have movie nights here every Saturday. So I feature a classic movie and it's really intimate and nice to watch a movie. You know what also is nice too. Everything here, we're gonna walk in the back. Everything is kind of like one size fits all because you take them back here and you alter it. I do and then there's right on the sewing machine right there. Yes. So we, I also do um alterations. I feel like I feel like um archives has always been a creative hub. I've always worked with different artists, designers, photographers, stylists, I've started internship programs in high schools. Um So yeah, such a great influence on, on everyone in the entire community and people can find you on social media. Vintage 007 archives, 007 archives, 007 vintage guys. Your family is huge and they're all inside. We've been here 46 years and we don't advertise because we don't have to let go. This is such a hometown feel you got to do it. Look the whole family. Everybody here. I was to let you know this morning. Ok, Adriano, who's here this morning? So we have mayor's it. We have my Aunt Regina, we have Daisy and my boyfriend Phillip Carol and Carol. Oh, my goodness. And Carol with the chamber and then we're gonna head over to the kitchen to find my brother George. Right. So he's actually a GP, but he's the third. Right? You got, you got George S Junior, that's Junior's mother and the third. And then where's George George? You're back in the kitchen there. He is. George. What are you making? Oh, those are huge. I'm making some meatballs and some garlic cheese. And you're telling me those are famous meatballs. Yeah, these are our famous meatballs. Famous. I mean, that's a lot of meat right there. Let's go see. We got Dale over here. I mean, a lot of memorabilia, the pictures, I mean, Dale, you got it all over here and you're really to do Frank Sinatra. You do. Um Yes, my mom was, you know, the, the cook here for years and she cooked for President Reagan, uh back at our church in Hoboken. And, you know, we, like I said, we've been here 46 years and we have a cute little dining room. We have an open kitchen and it's like a, a hangout where everybody comes to meet everybody and everyone knows everyone and just the local. But that's why we don't advertise because we've been here so long and the food is so good and it's just a place to hang out and everybody wants to eat at the bar and hang out at the bar, you know, and we do a lot of delivery and we have great food. If you don't want to leave, I don't want to leave part of the family and we only have 12 tables in this dining room. So you would definitely want to make a reservation before you come or just hang out in the bar. Well, I'm gonna go try some of those meatballs right back in the kitchen. And Lauren, we also we deliver, we're on um Grubhub all the Rey, all those uh delivery places and we'll bring your food wherever you are. Alright, thanks so much for us this morning. Back in my day. All right, let's see where the forecast is headed. As we go into the weekend, we've got rain. We have wind and a lot of it. Now, the timing of it is going to be critical. Most of the storminess that we're anticipating for Sunday is going to happen very late Sunday night into early Monday morning, the weekend is salvageable. Saturday is great and warm. We just see a little bit more cloud coverage. The first part of Sunday, up until about maybe three, four o'clock in the afternoon should be dry. Then the showers start and become steadier and heavier when all is said and done. We're likely going to pick up between 1 to 2 inches of rain in our rain gauges and a lot of that is going to happen very quickly and then the winds are picking up also. So it's a wind driven rain and if we do approach wind gusts of 4045 maybe even 50 miles an hour and it lasts for a couple of hours occasionally hitting those gusts, not, it's not gonna be a 34 hour sustained 40 or 50 mile an hour. Wind gust, it's periodically happening, but that's the type of wind that could get the power to flicker from time to time. We're at 39 dropping down to about 32. The opportunity for rain is going to be Sunday night into Monday morning, Saturday is looking great. Sunday afternoon is ok. It's cloudy but you'll be able to feel it in the air that the rain is certainly going to be building. So for tonight, temperatures, twenties and thirties with just a few clouds around Friday is gorgeous with sunshine. Temperatures are back up into the upper forties. We look at the extended forecast and as I mentioned, Saturday is warm but clouds are building Sunday morning, early Sunday afternoon, cloudy dry that changes going into Sunday night into early Monday morning. Give yourself a lot of extra time in that Monday morning routine to potentially deal with some travel headaches, getting wherever you go, the rain and the wind are gone for next week, the sunshine is back out but the cold that returns with morning lows in the twenties and thirties, daytime highs in the lower forties.

One of his favorites is Lotus Thai cuisine. We start to open the restaurant and I have my mom cooking from the beginning. So everything is very authentic and um mom recipe. Her Bangkok chicken is amazing. By the way. Who wants organic plant based ice cream. It's at B Coco Ice. We have coconut based ice cream. We have oat based ice cream, which is the chocolate and the rest of them are cashew based. My favorite is the strawberry shortbread time for breakfast at La Chica's Bakery. We have a little bit of everything pastries with like the margaritas or cream filled. They have Quince and cream. Then, then you have the traditional Uruguayan croissants so much to look at and so many to see at GPS restaurant. Everybody here, thanks for the warm welcome. Show us around.
