Well, it's Friday and it's time to highlight local businesses for main street, New Jersey. Our Lauren do is in Highland Park showing off the downtown Lauren. I have more fitness for you. So this is your motivational Friday. We're gonna go to kinetics and we have Mitra here. Kinetics Energy. We're in motion this morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. I'm so glad to have you guys here. You have the sneakers on. So we are ready to go this morning. What do you offer here? Uh, we offer three services, uh, personal training, small group or semi private training and all fitness challenges that are centered around, uh, weight loss. So, who's your clientele? Because it looks like you have a busy morning with this personal training. Definitely. So we primarily cater to, uh, individuals, male and female between the ages of 30 65. But our oldest client is 100 turning 101 on the 21st and the secret they come here. That's it. It's all about kinetic. That's, that's any, any advice for anyone at home that's watching and train regularly. That's the advice come here, train regularly. That's it. And I will say this is a lot better because Nick was giving me a little beef for calling the weight circle things. I, I was intimidated. I know they're weights but it's intimidating when you're in an environment that's not something that you're comfortable with. It could be unless you're coming to kinetics because we make you feel comfortable and everybody's on the same page. It's all about the burpees and the push ups. So, uh, it, uh, it is a, uh, non scary place. Well, I need to do some squats. I need to warm up this good morning. What do you say? We jump in with will, right. We got everyone training this morning. It is Friday and it's time to highlight local businesses for main street, New Jersey. Our Lauren do is in Highland Park this morning taking a bite out of Morty's kosher. It is time to eat. So let's go inside Morty's Bakery and they are open right now. But guess what? They don't open until seven o'clock this morning and I'm told it is going to be a busy day for them. So we're pretty lucky that we could get it and everything is all fully stocked. Y here. I mean, look at all of this. What don't you have here? Good morning. Yeah. What don't you have? I mean, do you have breakfast laid out for us this morning? We have breakfast, we have pastries, cakes, breads, bagels, basically anything for breakfast or lunch and all kosher here. All kosher. Everything is kosher. The sandwich section is dairy. The rest is all p everything is kosher. And you were saying, even though the bakery looks so good, the cakes and the cookies and all the pastries, people still come here for sandwiches. That's 60% of the business you said, yes, I'd say about 60% of the businesses sandwiches both through online apps such as Grubhub doordash and Uber. And then there's a lot of walk ins and we do have, we do do a lot of dishes. One of the big things we do here, you can create your own sandwich any way you want. So you can get the eggs with salt but no pepper or pepper but no salt. You can add cream cheese to your egg and cheese. You can add anything like that. And then we also have the menu dishes which we have some of them here for you. And what's your favorite part about being in Highland Park? Because you're pretty much a staple here. So I actually live in Brooklyn. I commute here every day. So the part I like here is a small town that like I'd say 80% of customers here are known by name when they walk in by me of the staff. Um, the Gerardo who makes the sandwiches usually will know what you want before you tell him you don't have that. And how long have you been here? I've been here since 2018, 2018. And you know what meteorologist Scott Skoff asked me for a black and white cookie. So here's Scott, this is the black and white cookie for you. It is time to go grocery shopping and no, it's not milk bread egg season yet. We're not talking about snow stripes. We're just talking about a little casual grocery shopping. Yankee here. We're going inside glut 27. I got my, my shopping cart. Right. Good. How are you doing? All right. So show me around. What can people buy here? We have a full-fledged supermarket here in Hound Park. Uh um, it's like you said, it's not just right away and this is, this is a mom and pop grocery store that you have here and you're the manager. Yes, I have. I've been here for almost eight years now. Eight years. And what makes it so great? Working at Glat 27. It's a small community grocery store. So you get to know all your customers. You get to know everybody around. So it's, it feels like family, feels like family and let's walk a little bit more because you have a full deli here too, right? So everything you could possibly imagine. It's all local and you also do web orders as well and you deliver, we have a website, um, with all the items in the store, thousands of items. Uh, on our website, we do delivery. People can just shove their orders here and we deliver it to them. Um, at their convenience, you leave their wagons around. We have a full section of belly items. Look at all that. We have our famous chopped liver, our famous egg salad. People come to that from all over the place. We have a full section of fresh poultry and fresh cheese, fresh every single day. Uh, we have a full butcher staff downstairs. Um, yeah, it's, you got everything going on here. Well, I left my shopping cart in the front so I gotta go back because I gotta do some shopping guys. We are still grocery shopping this time. We're at the park deli with Minos, the owner here. I mean, thanks for having us this morning. You're already hopping though. You're already giving handshakes, giving hugs this morning. Sure. Absolutely. That's what I like. You know, I've been doing this for over 28 years and I love it. I love this town community, good people. I enjoy what I do and that's what it is all of here. We're right on 27 busy highway here. What do you say? We, everyone, what it looks like inside? Yes, let's go to it. Thank you so much and it's already happened. I mean, people are already here getting their sandwiches, getting their lottery tickets too, by the way. I mean, pretty, pretty busy for very early in the morning. Yes, it is. I mean, we've been doing great here and, you know, since that closed down around the corner and we try our best to support the community. You know, we bring the little a lot of stuff like the produce and all that stuff that really community needed. And I think we step up very well and the community appreciate it. So, which is great. And it's all in one spot too because look at these sandwiches, Scott, you got to get over to the sandwiches. You have the fat sandwiches. What is that? Is that menu? It's crazy. Yes, that is, that is really a draw of our business sandwiches. We do breakfast, lunch, you know, very well. Breakfast. I think we have a regular people coming in and I think community love us. We love the community actually. So we know it's good though. I love that. No one's ordering those just yet though. It's a little too, of course. I mean, you have like fries, mozzarella sticks on a sandwich with a steak. But we do a lot of breakfast. So, you know, people come for our coffee, we have coffee, you know, and I think we, we really kill it here. I'm gonna go get in line guys. We're in Island Park this morning. Lauren Dune. We saw your son is here, sister. I mean, great spot. You just opened up a couple of March so far. Highland Park loves us. We love Highland Park. People are coming over from New Brunswick. It's been amazing. So what do you do here? Really fun men. Everything is healthy. There's no sugar, nothing is added. So everything is local fruit, local vegetables, smoothie. So juices, wellness shots. We do charco as well. That is. So that's an interesting concept. Yeah, we have the material. So why not? Right? You put some, some cheese together with some fruit, nice fresh fruit, some nuts seeds, some fig jam. We're good. All you need is the doing this. You do. You know what? I had a customer come in the other day. And he said to me, thank you. And I said no, thank you. And he says no, thank you. You're putting more days on my life. That's my favorite part. Well, it is Friday and it's time for main street, New Jersey where we get to highlight local businesses. News 12 New Jersey's Lauren De is in Highland Park. Getting a taste of Greek cuisine this morning. All right, let's get that cup of coffee. I got my menu here. We're at Aleon. We have Peter and we have Angela. How'd I do? You're doing great. How do you say it? It's called Eleni. And what does that mean? Greek? Basically in Greek they call it sounding American. We call it Eleni. Here we are guys. Thank you very much for coming today. Thank you for having us today. Show us around this coffee menu looks great. By the way, you have much more than just coffee here. It is a little bit more than a coffee here. We also have a bakery place. We also have the market side. Yeah, let's go show it. You got an olive tree right in the middle of the store. Absolutely. Look how cool this is. So, basically what you see is everything imported from Greece, all the olive oils, the olives, all the products we have on the shelves, most of the bakery stuff that we bake every day. We also have the desserts, which is super sweet. Then we go to the place stuff which is the croissant stuffed or plain. And then our specialties which is of course a spinach and feta pie. This is the best food we have. It's actually made in Greece. Indeed, we just do the baking over here. This is what makes this place special, which means that if you ever guys go to Greece and taste this thing over there most likely is gonna be exactly the same thing here. So this is what makes this place absolutely different if that makes anyone want to come down here. What time do you open up? We open at nine for now. We close at eight. This is for the summer time and not for the winter time. We're gonna fix this for opening earlier and closing area two. Thanks for having us this morning, Angela Peter. Back in my day. All right, let's see where the forecast is headed. As we go into the weekend, we've got rain. We have wind and a lot of it. Now, the timing of it is going to be critical. Most of the storminess that we're anticipating for Sunday is going to happen very late Sunday night into early Monday morning, the weekend is salvageable. Saturday is great and warm. We just see a little bit more cloud coverage. The first part of Sunday, up until about maybe three, four o'clock in the afternoon should be dry. Then the showers start and become steadier and heavier when all is said and done. We're likely going to pick up between 1 to 2 inches of rain in our rain gauges and a lot of that is going to happen very quickly and then the winds are picking up also. So it's a wind driven rain and if we do approach wind gusts of 4045 maybe even 50 miles an hour and it lasts for a couple of hours occasionally hitting those gusts, not, it's not gonna be a 34 hour sustained 40 or 50 mile an hour. Wind gust, it's periodically happening, but that's the type of wind that could get the power to flicker from time to time. We're at 39 dropping down to about 32. The opportunity for rain is going to be Sunday night into Monday morning, Saturday is looking great. Sunday afternoon is ok. It's cloudy but you'll be able to feel it in the air that the rain is certainly going to be building. So for tonight, temperatures, twenties and thirties with just a few clouds around Friday is gorgeous with sunshine. Temperatures are back up into the upper forties. We look at the extended forecast and as I mentioned, Saturday is warm but clouds are building Sunday morning, early Sunday afternoon, cloudy dry that changes going into Sunday night into early Monday morning. Give yourself a lot of extra time in that Monday morning routine to potentially deal with some travel headaches, getting wherever you go, the rain and the wind are gone for next week, the sunshine is back out but the cold that returns with morning lows in the twenties and thirties, daytime highs in the lower forties.

It's Friday. It's time to highlight local businesses from main street, New Jersey. Our Lauren do is in Highland Park. Lauren. What spots are you checking out this morning? All right. Time to do some fitness. We're gonna go to mckenna's gym and look at this. It's ok to watch. So guess what? We're gonna go watch and I think we're gonna go inside and talk to them too. Let's see. Everyone's up early this morning lifting a lot of heavy weights. Oh my God. Some guys doing some pull ups with chain around his neck. Oh my gosh. Look at this. Ok. They are so strong this morning. It's very early. Good morning, Mike Sally. Who do you train here? We train everybody, we train folks who wanna get stronger to carry dog food or carry their grandkids or chains around their necks, chains around their necks, um, or people who wanna, you know, go all the way to the world championship and compete internationally. So we'll train anybody who wants to get stronger and feel good about themselves and you, and that's what you've done too. Right? Yeah, I was a competitive lifter but I've been coaching now. Um, full time for about 15 years. And, uh, I've been coaching part time at least for about 2025 years and we've had three international level lifters, several national champions, um, about 30 national medal winners. It's been a really good time honestly and we love what we're doing and we love helping people get strong and learn about their bodies. And you love being in Highland Park too. Actually, I, I do, I feel more at home here than I have since I was 10 when we moved to Delaware. Like, this is my favorite town I've ever been in. Awesome. Well, let's go check in. How's, how's it going this morning? How much are you lifting? Um, this is £100 100 pounds. No biggie. What do you got going on?
