Bagel Bazaar, founded in 1987 in Edison, is preparing to launch a franchise model this year.
Owner Paul Salas started working at a Bagel Bazaar location in Franklin Park in 1994 at age 15 and invested in his first store at 20.
The company plans to focus on franchising in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, with two new locations opening in Manville and Rahway. Bagel Bazaar currently operates 10 stores in New Jersey.
By 2030, the company aims to have 50 franchises and 250 units by 2040. Nationwide shipping began in 2024, allowing customers across the U.S. and Canada to order bagels.
Bagel Bazaar produces 10 million bagels annually, spreads 200,000 pounds of cream cheese, cracks 2 million eggs, grills 50,000 pounds of pork roll, and cooks more than 1 million slices of bacon each year.
