More major retails are closing locations across the country, including here in New Jersey.
Kohl's is set to close only one location in New Jersey in April. It's on Princeton Hightstown Road in East Winsor.
Kohl's Corporate says it's one of 27 stores that are under performing. In addition, they say their San Bernardino, California E-commerce Distribution Center will close in May. Their CEO says it's part of their long-term growth strategy.
Macy's plans to close 66 stores across the country that are also underperforming. They still plan to close the 150 stores they announced earlier last year. The company says it's a "Bold New Chapter" strategy that will return the company to sustainable, profitable sales growth.
The only location closing in New Jersey is the Macy's Backstage on Prospect Avenue West at the Essex Green Shopping Center in West Orange.
Macy's website says, "For Macy's stores, clearance sales will begin in January and will run for approximately 8-12 weeks. For Macy's Backstage stores and Macy's Furniture Galleries, clearance sales will begin in February and will run for approximately 6 weeks. For a full list of store closures, please visit www.macysinc.com/investors or visit our store locator page to find your nearest store."
