Macy’s is planning on closing 66 store locations, including several in the tri-state area.
The Macy’s locations include three on Long Island, two in Brooklyn, one in The Bronx and one in New Jersey.
The company said it is closing the stores due to underproduction and to focus their resources elsewhere.
List of tri-state stores to close:
- Essex Green Shopping Center, NJ
- Lake Success Shopping Center in New Hyde Park, NY
- Melville Mall, NY
- Queens Place, NY
- Sheepshead Bay, NY
- Mall at Greece Ridge, NY
- Sunrise Mall, NY
- Downtown Brooklyn, NY
- Staten Island Furniture, NY
- Fordham Place, NY

Macy's website says, "For Macy's stores, clearance sales will begin in January and will run for approximately 8-12 weeks.
