Police say two female scam artists are going door-to-door, luring victims into helping them search for a fictitious lost cat as thieves rob their home. The most recent incident happened on Linden Avenue in Bound Brook, where thieves lured people from their home and stole several thousand dollars, according to police. They add that there have been other similar crimes reported in surrounding areas. Public safety officers are warning the elderly to be extra careful as they are often the focus of scams.Police say they have descriptions of those involved in the scam, but no one has been arrested yet.
