Members of a Pakistani group based in the Bronx say they are shocked and outraged after a deadly school massacre in their homeland.

Bronx Community Council members are condemning the act of terrorism, and say they have been getting calls from relatives from their country all day. The council was started two years ago to help represent the more than 35,000 Pakistani people in The Bronx.

Officials believe that the school massacre is the worst attack to hit Pakistan in years. So far, 141 people, mostly students, were killed at a military school by Taliban gunmen.

Officials say the siege at the military-run school is over and now the country is trying to heal.

The Bronx Community Council says it is confident the country's military will succeed in overthrowing the terrorist group. They say they believe the military school was targeted by the Taliban because of Pakistan's ties with the United States.

Pakistani residents fear the death toll will continue to rise in what they are calling one of the worst atrocities to hit their country.
