Government officials, The Connecticut Project, and SimplifyCT are teaming up to encourage residents to file for earned income tax credits.

Thousands of Connecticut working-class families are eligible to claim state and federal earned income tax credits (EITC).

One in 4 people around the country do not claim their earned income tax credits.

In 2024, close to 45,000 eligible residents missed out on claiming their EITC benefits.

Nearly 6,000 Connecticut residents in 2025 secured their refunds through The Connecticut Project’s EITC campaign, returning more than $13 million to their pockets.

Across the state, EITC participation rose in 2025, compared to 2024, generating $531.8 million for Connecticut—an increase of $43.8 million from the previous year.
