Police: Little Falls woman robbed by man brandishing meat tenderizer in Bergenfield

Police say a 33-year-old man robbed a woman in Bergenfield with a meat tenderizer on Monday.

A 45-year-old woman from Little Falls was robbed by a man brandishing a meat tenderizer in Bergenfield on Monday, according to police.
Police say the robbery happened in the area of Murray Hill Terrace and Sylvan Avenue around 10:30 a.m. Rickent Carrasco, 33, from Cliffside Park fled the scene, police say, but was later found with the weapon. Police say he was also found with the woman’s cellphone, purse, credit cards and around $400 in cash.
Police say the woman was not injured during the incident and that her belongings were returned to her.
Carrasco was charged on a complaint warrant with robbery, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon. He was transported to Bergen County Jail pending his appearance in Bergen County Superior Court.
