Listeria bacteria was found inside a cooler at United Airlines’ kitchen facility at Newark Liberty International Airport.

A spokesperson for United Airlines issued a statement about the finding that said, "We have not detected listeria in any food-contact surface or any food served to our customers or employees in our airports or on our aircraft."

The cooler is isolated and the area has been cleaned, sanitized and contained, according to the spokesperson.

The airline says that safety is their priority and that it will continue to take precautionary measures to make sure passengers are kept safe.
