Thousands of beachgoers will pay more than just gas money to hit beaches at the Jersey Shore this summer.
Starting Saturday, beach fees will go into effect at various locations. Some of the beaches will be checking badges to make sure visitors have paid. At Bradley Beach, it costs $7 per adult and $1 per hour for parking. The prices are the same for beaches in Belmar and Manasquan. In Point Pleasant, it costs adults $7.50 for a badge. To visit Seaside Park, visitors will pay $8. A trip to Ocean City will cost $10.
Children under 12 are usually free at the beaches. Many residents say while a trip to the beach can get expensive, they don?t mind paying to enjoy the sand and surf.
There is no charge to visit the beaches in Wildwood and Atlantic City.
