Ocean Township has its big screen set up, and the Lion King is getting ready to roll for tonight’s drive-in movie free event.
The event will be held at the fairgrounds in Joe Palaia Park.
One big screen is at the front of the fairgrounds, and another will sit in the middle.
Mayor Chris Sicilliano says 88 cars will be permitted. Parking spaces are marked and set up for proper social distancing.
“We have to follow the governor’s guidelines so everybody has to be inside, have no alcohol, no cigarettes,” says Mayor Sicilliano. “You can’t have a convertible, but as things loosen up in the summer, hopefully we will get back to the old-style movies."
People going have already registered, so if you are not on the list, you will not be permitted in.
The mayor says he hopes to have enough movie nights to allow everyone a chance to register and attend, and hopes to continue drive-in movie night through the pandemic and beyond.
