Young students at Iselin’s Light Bridge Academy spent the day packing bags for the thousands of children who were affected by hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
The students will send over 2,000 bags filled with travel-size toiletries, clothes, books, blankets and other comfort items. The students also wrote letter and drew pictures to help lift the spirits of the kids displaced by the storms.
"Lightbridge Academy is a company based on the foundation of core values and one of our values is caring,” says Lightbridge Academy director Maria DiMeo. “When everything happened in Florida and Texas, we wanted to help as much as possible."
The school is calling the backpacks 'I Care' donations and says that it's important to always help those in need.
The backpacks will be sent out on Friday, Sept. 22.
